Birmingham Metropoly Treasure Hunt
Birmingham is a diverse and Cosmopolitan city – the 2nd largest in England with almost 2.5 million population. Famous for canals, chocolate, Aston Villa Football club, The Bull Ring and some of the best curries anywhere in Europe.
Like most cities in the Western World there is a Birmingham version of board game ‘Monopoly’. Well at CTH we have created our own Birmingham “Metropoly” Treasure Hunt and the difference is – you are playing it for real!
On this scavenger trail – teams must collect properties by visiting and photographing their teams at locations such as
- Birmingham Cathedral
- Corporation Street
- Castle Bromwich
- Union Street
- The Bullring
- Digbeth
- New Street
- Dale End
- Chamberlain Square
- The Hipppodrome
…………..and many more.
Teams must plan their route around Birmingham on foot and by public transport – using bus, train and tram constantly searching for treasure hunt clues and answers.
As well as collecting properties – teams must also complete a series of compulsory team building tasks (we call them Community Trove and Pot Luck).
Bonus points are scored for completing difficult or unusual tasks (i.e. photograph the team with a Finnish Tourist (proof required). Maximum points for photographing another team without them knowing or for finding a set of bearded, identical twins!
General knowledge riddles and clues about the city add more competition still – (e.g. Birmingham has more canals than Venice – how many are there?)
There is no way any team can complete the entire Challenge so the key to success is to plan effectively, to stick to a strategy and to amass as many points as possible in the allotted time.
Specialist themed versions of the Birmingham Metropoly treasure hunt are available on many subjects including:
- Fashion
- Music
- Food and drink
- Trains
- Football
- British History
- Cars
- Business and Commerce
- Canals
As with almost all our treasure hunts – we can and often do tailor each Birmingham activity to incorporate bespoke and unique content relating to your company or group.
