London – Metropoly Treasure Hunt
London is without doubt one of the most Cosmopolitan cities on earth! Home to the Cockney, the financial capital, the mighty Thames, the Tower of London, great football clubs, superb restaurants, Theatre-land, the Queen…London’s got it all
Like most cities in the Western World there is of course a London version of board game ‘Monopoly’. In the CTH London Metropoly treasure hunt the difference is you are playing it for real!
To start with teams have to collect properties by visiting and photographing their teams at locations such as
- Park Lane
- Oxford Street
- Marylebone Station
- The Houses of Parliament
- Tower Bridge
- Old Kent Road
- Harrods
- Hyde Park
- Covent Garden
- The South Bank
- Camden Lock
- Brixton Market
- Shoreditch
- Hampstead Heath
- Notting HIll
- Chelsea Embankment
- Waterloo
- Richmond Park
- The Tower of London
- St Pauls
- Canary Wharf
- Clapham Common
- Soho
- Westminster…………..and many more.
Teams must plan their treasure hunt route around London on foot and by public transport – using all-zone TFL travel passes we give them –
Teams must also complete a series of compulsory tasks (Community Trove and Pot Luck).
Bonus points are scored for completing difficult or unusual tasks (i.e. photograph the team with a Finnish Tourist (proof required). Maximum points for photographing another team without them knowing or for finding a set of bearded, identical twins!
General knowledge riddles and clues about the city add more competition still – (e.g. who is buried standing up at St. Paul’s and why?)
There is no way any team can complete the entire treasure trail so the key to success is to plan effectively, to stick to a strategy and to amass as many points as possible in the allotted time.
Specialist themed versions are available on many subjects including:
- Fashion
- Music
- Food and drink
